SATURNINE
One planet. Seven states.
A perfume collection built on one 55 ml glass sphere with an orbital ring. Each of its seven finishes is drawn from something real that happens on Saturn: summer haze, winter blue, the equinox, the aurora, dawn, eclipse and storm.

01 · The idea
Saturn never shows the same face twice.
Its axis is tilted 26.73°, so it has seasons, and each one lasts more than seven Earth years. Over that slow cycle the color of the clouds, the haze, the shadows of the rings and the light at the poles all change, while the planet itself turns once in about 10.7 hours.
SATURNINE starts from those observed changes and takes one measured step into poetry. The shape stays the same. What changes is Saturn’s light.

01 · The idea
Seven names. One planet.
CITRINE, AQUAMARINE, CRYSTAL, MALACHITE, MORGANITE, NOIR and SMOKE are product names, not claims about Saturn’s literal color. They are a human vocabulary for seven ways the same planet can be seen.
Every finish is anchored in a dated observation, and the page tells you which colors are translations.
02 · At a glance

03 · The object
The bottle is already Saturn.
A glass sphere for the planet. A ring set at its equator. A faceted crown for the pole. Seen from the same angle as the real thing, the bottle lines up with the planet before anyone reads the name.
Fig. 01 · Saturn at 600,000 km and the bottle at arm’s length, seen through the same lens
03 · The object
It even leans.
Standing on its base, the bottle tilts 20° from vertical, and the ring and crown lean with it. Saturn’s own axis is tilted 26.73°. The base is a flat facet cut into the sphere, so the lean is built into the glass.
04 · Anatomy
Seven parts. One silhouette.
Opened up, the bottle is a small system of its own. The glass sphere and the plastic ring make the planet; the crown, brim, inner cap and fine-mist pump make the pole.

- Inner cap · PP
- Fine-mist pump
- Dip tube
- Glass sphere · Ø 66.4 mm · 55 ml
- Orbital ring · plastic · Ø 91.4 mm
04 · Anatomy · the ring
The ring has rings.
Both faces of the plastic ring carry four concentric grooves, so it catches light in bands, the way Saturn’s ring system is divided into rings and gaps. The ring is a separate part, attached to the glass at the sphere’s equator.

05 · Drawn to be made
Built on a mold that already exists.
SATURNINE uses Jarsking’s existing Saturn-shaped 55 ml glass bottle. The sphere, ring and cap geometry stay exactly as they are, so the project needs no new tooling. Everything that makes the seven states different happens in color, material and finish.
Dimensions measured from the production 3D file · confirm per project
05 · Drawn to be made
Samples in days, not months.
On an existing mold, glass samples take 3 to 15 days and ODM production 40 to 60 days, plus shipping. The minimum order is 10,000 units per finish.
Sea freight adds 35 to 40 days · confirm per project
06 · Finish is the story
Three kinds of depth.
Transparent-tinted glass holds light inside the sphere. Solid color turns the planet into mass. Clear glass reduces the object to pure structure.
Body · transparent-tinted · holds the light
06 · Finish is the story
The ring decides where the light lands.
The ring, brim and crown change finish with each state: electroplated, glossy, matte, translucent-matte or transparent-tinted. That one choice decides whether the ring reads as a mirror, a shadow, a veil or a line of light.

State 01 / 07 · Solar Haze
CITRINE
Summer turns the pole to gold.
Between 2012 and 2016, as summer approached Saturn’s north pole, Cassini watched the region inside the polar hexagon turn from blue to gold. The likely cause is sunlight itself: more of it makes more photochemical haze.

State 01 / 07 · Design note · the crown
The crown is cut in facets like a gem, so it breaks light into points. CITRINE pairs it with an electroplated ring and brim, so the top of the bottle catches the light first. The warmest, brightest state, and the natural lead of the range.

State 02 / 07 · Winter Pole
AQUAMARINE
Winter clears the air.
In December 2004, months after Cassini arrived, Saturn’s northern hemisphere was in winter and looked blue. Sunlight crossed a long path through clear upper air, which scatters blue light the way Earth’s sky does. Over the next decade, as spring and summer returned, the blue gave way to gold.

State 02 / 07 · Design note · the sphere
A sphere has no front and no back. It looks complete from every side of a counter, and tinted glass shades from deep to pale across the curve. AQUAMARINE is the cool, quiet state: clear air, a long way off.
Render · AQUAMARINE · the ring reads as a veil
The scent brief is packaging-led. The fragrance itself is the brand’s to formulate.
State 03 / 07 · Equinox
CRYSTAL
The day the ring became a line.
On August 11, 2009, the Sun shone exactly edge-on to the rings, and they nearly vanished. Shadows that are normally invisible stretched across them: waves raised by the small moon Daphnis rise almost 4 km above the ring plane and cast shadows up to 500 km long.

State 03 / 07 · Design note · the line
CRYSTAL is the only fully clear body in the range. With nothing to tint the glass, the ring becomes the sharpest line on the bottle, the way Saturn’s rings become a line at equinox.
Render · CRYSTAL · the ring reads as a line of light
The scent brief is packaging-led. The fragrance itself is the brand’s to formulate.
State 03 / 07 · Inside the A ring
At equinox, the rings show their relief.
The main rings are typically only about 10 meters thick, yet they reach 282,000 km from the planet. With the Sun on the ring plane, every ripple becomes visible: Pan sweeps the 325 km Encke Gap clear, and Daphnis lifts waves along the edges of the 42 km Keeler Gap.

MALACHITE
A field you cannot see.
Saturn’s magnetic field is 578 times as powerful as Earth’s. It funnels charged particles into the poles, where they light up auroras, mostly in ultraviolet light our eyes cannot see. The green is a deliberate translation of that invisible field, not an observed color.

State 04 / 07 · Design note · the shell
Here the logic flips. The body is solid matte green and the ring, brim and crown turn transparent, like a visible shell around a force you cannot see.

MORGANITE
First light on a curved horizon.
Seen against the light, Saturn’s upper atmosphere and rings glow along the edge of the planet. In 2017 Cassini dove 22 times through the roughly 2,000 km gap between the planet and its rings. Rose is a poetic reading of that first light, not an observed color.

State 05 / 07 · Design note · the gloss
A solid gloss body takes reflections like a lacquered surface, while clear accessories keep the top of the bottle light. MORGANITE is the softest state in the range.

NOIR
The planet between you and the Sun.
When Saturn passes in front of the Sun, the globe goes dark and the rings light up from behind. On July 19, 2013, Cassini photographed the whole system this way, with Earth a pale dot 1.44 billion km away.

State 07 / 07 · Storm Veil
SMOKE
A storm that wrapped the planet.
On December 5, 2010, a storm broke out in Saturn’s northern hemisphere. By late January 2011 it had wrapped all the way around the planet. It raged for about 200 days, and its turbulent clouds stayed long after it faded.

07 · One geometry, seven finish systems
Three transparent. Three solid. One clear.
CITRINE, AQUAMARINE and NOIR hold light inside tinted glass. MALACHITE, MORGANITE and SMOKE turn the planet into solid mass. CRYSTAL sits between them as the clear equilibrium. Gloss answers matte, and the accessory finish moves where the light is caught.

09 · Identity
A wordmark with an orbit in it.
SATURNINE is set in wide, monoline capitals with generous tracking: engineered, quiet and legible from across a room. Interrupted strokes in the R and E read like atmospheric interference, a signal received from very far away. The final E holds a single point, a planet in orbit that echoes the bottle’s ring.

Secondary mark
The monogram combines planet, ring and initials: two mirrored S-forms joined by a central orbit, small enough for a crown, a sample vial or a wax seal.

Typography and graphics
Monospace and small caps. STATE 01–07. Compact observation blocks, hairline rules and generous space. No mythic illustration and no celestial character art: every image stays accountable to Saturn itself.
10 · Development
From orbit sketches to a final object.
Saturn’s orbital rhythm was translated into intersecting circles, golden-ratio proportions and a single unit sphere. The cap was refined from raw crystal into a faceted, precisely seated form, and the ring became a fluid, transparent orbital band.

11 · Collector case
Seven states, revealed at once.
The upper tier behaves like a small exhibition: sculptural hand supports lift three bottles into view. The lower drawer is a precise archive, with recessed wells that hold the other four ring-forward. Pearl-white rigid board keeps the case architectural and quiet, and the SATURNINE wordmark is its only large exterior statement.

12 · Campaign
Wear the weather of a distant world.
The rotating bottle is the content unit: seven matched loops, one lighting condition per state, with the ring passing through the same point in every frame. Cut together, Saturn seems to change its weather without changing its form.

Questions buyers ask
Does SATURNINE need a new mold?
No. It is built on Jarsking’s existing Saturn-shaped 55 ml glass bottle. The seven states differ only in color, material and finish, so there is no tooling cost and no tooling time.
What is the minimum order?
10,000 units per finish on the existing mold. A phased launch with three finishes starts at 30,000 units.
Can we use our own name and colors?
Yes. The name, identity, finishes, on-pack copy and collector case can all be adapted to your brand and your market.
Which decorations work on this bottle?
Matte finishing, hot stamping, silk printing and CMYK printing. Every decoration is trialed for contrast and adhesion on each finish before approval.
Are these Saturn's real colors?
No. The seven names are product names. Each state is anchored in a real observation, and colors such as MALACHITE green and MORGANITE rose are openly creative translations.
Can the bottle be refilled?
That depends on whether the neck is a screw or a crimp finish, which is confirmed per project. Nothing in the proposal assumes refill.
