What we collect
When you send an enquiry
The enquiry form asks for your name, email address and a description of your project. You can also give your company, target market and product category, and attach up to three files (PDF, JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 10 MB each). With each enquiry, the site records the date and time, the page you sent it from, your IP address and your browser’s user-agent string.
When you email us
We receive your email address, your message and any attachments.
When you browse the site
Like every web server, ours records technical details of each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the page you came from and your browser’s user-agent string. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure.
When you play our film
The film is hosted on YouTube and loads only when you press play. YouTube (Google) then receives your IP address and information about your device. See our cookie policy.
What we do not collect
This site uses no analytics or advertising tools, and we do not take payments through it. We do not ask for sensitive information, such as health data, so please do not include it in your enquiry.
How we use it, and our legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a proposal. Legal basis: steps you ask us to take before a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To deliver a project we agree with you, including design, sampling, production and delivery. Legal basis: performance of our contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To follow up on your enquiry and keep records of our business conversations. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and developing our business (Article 6(1)(f)). You can ask us to stop following up at any time.
- To keep the site secure and to prevent spam and misuse of the form. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the site and our team (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping tax and accounting records. Legal basis: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not add you to marketing newsletters from this site.
Who we share it with
- Our team: Studio, sales and project staff in Guangzhou, and colleagues in our Dubai and Los Angeles offices when your project involves them.
- Production partners: if we work together, the factories and suppliers making your packaging receive the project details they need, and nothing more.
- Service providers that process data for us: Alibaba Cloud, which hosts this website on a server in the United States (Silicon Valley), and Alibaba Mail, which provides our email service in China.
- YouTube (Google), when you choose to play our film. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
International transfers
Our team and our email service are in China, and our web server is in the United States. If you contact us from another country, your data is therefore processed in China and the United States, which may not give the same legal protection as the country where you live.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we transfer your data because it is necessary to answer your enquiry, to take steps you ask for before a contract, or to perform our contract with you (Article 49(1)(b) GDPR). Where the law requires additional safeguards for a transfer, we put them in place, for example the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
If you are in mainland China, please note that information you send through the enquiry form is first stored on our web server in the United States, before it reaches our team in Guangzhou.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a project: up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Customer and project records: 7 years after the project ends, for contract, tax and accounting purposes.
- Copies of form entries in the website’s database: kept for the same periods as the enquiry itself.
- Files attached to the form: sent to our mailbox as email attachments and not stored on the web server. We keep them with your enquiry, as above.
- Email sending logs: 14 days.
- Web server logs: only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including follow-ups;
- send your data to you, or to another company, in a common format;
- withdraw any consent you have given.
Depending on where you live, these rights come from laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, China’s Personal Information Protection Law and US state privacy laws. To use them, email jarskingstudio@jarsking.com or info@jarsking.com. We reply within one month and may first ask you to confirm your identity. There is no charge, unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.
You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The site runs over encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to the site’s administration, to form entries and to our mailboxes is limited to the staff who need it. No system is completely secure; if a breach puts your data at risk, we will act on it and notify you and the authorities where the law requires.

This site uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The details are in our cookie policy.
Children
This site is for businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
